Who we are
About Operation: RallyPoint
Operation: RallyPoint is a veteran-led nonprofit in Monroe, Georgia, serving veterans in crisis, facing housing instability, or struggling to transition to civilian life.
Through direct services and community partnerships, we provide immediate relief and long-term support to help veterans stabilize, heal, and rebuild independent lives — with respect, accountability, and lived experience.
How we started
Operation: RallyPoint was established in October 2015 by three Army combat veterans — Brandon Watts, Johnny Grimes, and Elizabeth Mason Briele — who set out to serve the veterans they knew were in crisis, and specifically those who had become homeless.
That origin still sets the terms. The people who built this had been through some version of it themselves, which is why the work starts with a bed and a conversation rather than an assessment and a queue.
Why we exist
A rally point is a coordinate: a place you are told to get to, where someone will be waiting. That is the whole idea. A veteran in crisis does not need a brochure or a waitlist. They need somewhere to go tonight and a person who is already expecting them.
We close the gap between the moment a veteran runs out of options and the moment a system is able to respond. Then we do the longer work of making sure they do not end up back at the same edge.
How we work
We are small, and we are direct. There is no eligibility screen standing between the call and the key. We cover lodging ourselves rather than issuing a voucher, because a voucher is one more thing to chase.
Everything after that first night — benefits, treatment, work, permanent housing — starts with a conversation the next morning, and we stay involved through the handoff rather than passing along a phone number.
